Sponsorship Required for Great Britain Australian Rules Football
2017 presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to the Great Britain Bulldogs and Swans – the chance to represent Great Britain at the International Cup - the world cup for Australian Rules Football. In August 2017, AFL in Great Britain will be represented by a squad of 60 male and female players, coaches and support staff in Melbourne, against up to 30 other nations playing Australian Rules Football from around the world.

Over the next 16 months in the run up to the International Cup we have a packed schedule with nationwide training, university visits, international friendlies across Europe, and the European Championships being held in London in August 2016. This will give us the perfect springboard to show what we are capable of at the International Cup. 2017 will also be the first time Great Britain sends a women’s team to the competition. With the inaugural professional women’s AFL league starting in 2017 and England’s Vixen’s being crowned the best team in Europe in 2015 it is an exciting time to be part of one of the largest growing women’s sports globally.

With the men’s team coached by Dean Thomas, the women’s team coached by Garth Nevin and both being conditioned by the high performance teams of various UK Universities, a squad of talented, committed and enthusiastic players has been named to train for this opportunity. You can be a part of something great, supporting development of grass-roots sport and players into an elite level experience.

The Great Britain AFL sides are seeking sponsorship partners to work with to both reduce the financial burden on the squad and to promote partner’s interests in conjunction with squad activities. The squad has a target of £200,000 to raise or to find through in-kind means, to help cover flights, accommodation, kit and equipment, insurance and the numerous other costs that come with a trip of this magnitude.

There are a number of sponsorship benefits which can be offered, and the management team are eager to speak to you to find out how this could benefit both groups, as well as to discuss any and all requirements you may have from such a partnership.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information. I would welcome a meeting to discuss further so please let me know any availability you have in the near future.
