Support Team Cumbria on the Road to Madrid

Three dedicated fighters from Cumbria Combat Sports have been selected to represent Team England at the ISKA Amateur Championships in Madrid this November – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and the pinnacle of amateur kickboxing.

To make this dream a reality, we are looking for businesses to become official sponsors.

Conrad Speirs, 24, turned his life around after facing a difficult upbringing and falling in with the wrong crowd. Determined to become the best version of himself, he dedicated himself to training, often spending four hours a day improving both physically and mentally. After discovering boxing and Muay Thai, he joined Cumbria Combat Sport under coach Ryan Thomas and quickly made an impact. Since making his debut, Conrad has won all four of his fights, with three victories coming by KO or TKO.
Alongside training full-time, Conrad works as a greenkeeper, coaches at Cumbria Combat Sport, and cares for his grandmother. Driven by an unwavering passion for fighting, he has set his sights on becoming a world champion and credits the sport with completely changing the direction of his life.

Jude Archer, 18, is an architectural joiner from Barrow-in-Furness. Although he wasn't heavily involved in sports growing up, apart from weightlifting, everything changed when he was encouraged to try kickboxing at Cumbria Combat Sports. He has now been training in K1 kickboxing for just over two years and has built an impressive 2-1 amateur record. Jude won his first fight by first-round TKO less than a year after starting and has remained dedicated to competing ever since. He is now preparing for the ISKA Amateur Championships in November, an opportunity he describes as a dream come true and a major milestone in his kickboxing journey.

Jacob Gillibrand, 20, began training in kickboxing two years ago after wanting to take up the sport for many years. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he played a range of sports at school, particularly football, running, and weightlifting. Jacob works as a pipe fitter at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness, where he now lives and trains. After just nine months of training, he made his debut and went on to win four consecutive fights in his first year. His final bout of the year saw him claim the BMF kickboxing title in Barnsley with a five-round unanimous decision, bringing the gym its first belt. He has since successfully defended the title with a TKO victory over a Swedish opponent and is now preparing to represent Team England at the ISKA (International Sport Kickboxing Association) event in Madrid this November.
