Dinosaur Game

The Dinosaur Game, also called Chrome Dino, was released in 2014 by a team of Google Chrome developers. Their idea was to make something fun for users when the connection failed — turning an annoying “No Internet” screen into a fun little adventure.

The dinosaur was chosen because it symbolized the “prehistoric era” — a time before Wi-Fi existed. The game’s designer, Sebastien Gabriel, once said that it represents the moment you go back in time whenever you lose your connection. What started as a small joke quickly became a global hit.
