Kyoto Shotokan Karate Club

Kyoto Shotokan Karate Club

We teach traditional Shotokan Karate - our lessons are structured to teach traditional Karate as taught by the Japanese, with the emphasis on discipline and karate technique. Karate is suitable for all ages, we have children training from the ages of 5 upwards, and men/women of all ages (there is no upper age limit).

The karate lessons are taught by club instructor Steve Ashby (2nd Dan) - Steve has over 30 years karate experience, starting to learn karate back in 1984 at the Konjaku Shin dojo under Sensei Dave Kershaw (7th Dan).
Steve established the Bristol Karate club back in 1996.
To ensure students are taught to the highest standard, all our students are graded by Hanshi Shiro Asano (9th Dan), the Chief Instructor to SKI Europe.

We host regular karate classes/courses in Bristol with senior SKI-GB instructors, Sensei Paul Mead (7th Dan), 2011 SKI European Gold medalist (Masters Kumite) and Sensei Dave Kershaw (7th Dan), bringing some of the most experienced karate instructors to Bristol for our students.
Paul Mead teaching in BristolSensei Paul Mead will be teaching at the Bristol Karate club in September 2013.
