Southampton Spitfires Softball Club

The Spitfires are the Solent Softball League's newest Southampton based team, brought together from both sides of the Itchen Bridge (and further afield) in early 2014. Answering the SSL's call for new members and forming the nucleus of a novice team during their coaching sessions with Bryan, Nigel, Kat, Liam, Simon and others. The Spitfires launched themselves into their first competitive matches at the Tom Prince Charity tournament and didn't come last!

The drive to recruit further members, especially female ones continues into 2014 and every Spitfire is looking forward to more games through the year.

Softball is a mixed recreational game with teams made up of both men and women with an overall emphasis on just having fun. The Southampton Spitfires are looking for new male & female players to join its team. What is softball? Softball is a cross between baseball and rounders and caters for any size, shape, age and ability of player. It’s also one of the only sports where men and women participate together on equal levels.
